Prokofiev, “Lieutenant Suite” by Bernie Heeder

I found this vinyl recording in a used bin for $6.00 marked Mint. It must have been an audio file recording, Japanese/German project. It is a Deutsche Grammophon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado – Manufactured by Polydor KK #28GG 0004. It is a 45 RPM disk. I would have to say that this is one of the most dynamic recordings I have ever heard. Caution, Watch the volume as the opening trumpet solo is so quiet and soft, then two minutes later the drums are so deep and loud you might damage something. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is so well recorded and their playing is what one would expect from this orchestra. Wonderful to listen to. If you look for this recording, be careful to ask the seller if the recording is a 45 RPM. My first copy was mislabeled as 45 RPM but turned out to be 33 1/3. Good Listening!
