Second Date Added: Linkwitz LX521-4 The Reference Speakers Event In Healdsburg
November 14, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm$10.00
Back by popular demand, a second Linkwitz LX521-4 Speaker event has been added.
PLUS, Dr. Frank Brenner is planning on attending the event in Healdsburg. Dr. Frank Brenner, who has taken up the administration of Linkwitzlab.com from his hometown of Stuttgart, Germany. (Siegfried Linkwitz passed away in 2018.)
Frank left a career as a physician to become an airline pilot for Lufthansa, and currently makes not-so-regular flights to California. His interest in building speakers led him to research on the Internet and, ultimately, to the Linkwitz Lab website. He purchased the components for Siegfried’s previous design, the Orion, in kit form and was “blown away” with the sound. When the LX521 design was published, he immediately ordered the parts and built what turned out to be the second pair in existence at the time. Frank took a poll on the Linkwitzlab forum and found overwhelming interest in the speakers. In 2013, with Siegfried’s approval, he decided to market kits and fully-assembled units.
Since then, after consulting with Don Naples, Frank has developed/implemented several improvements to the LX521 including better drivers, improved amplifiers and an analog active crossover.
Join us for another opportunity to hear the latest version (revision) of the Linkwitz open baffle LX521-4 The Reference speaker system (https://linkwitz.store/product/lx521/). With new drivers, newly re-designed analog active crossovers and power amps resulting in a speaker system that sounds truly exceptional!
Here’s an excerpt from a review of the LX521 The Reference speakers by Jack Vad, San Francisco Symphony, GRAMMY winning Producer & Engineer:
“I didn’t have any other speakers that could reveal as accurate a sound stage, do so with tonal & timbral neutrality, and seemingly bypass the room … used for the final production stage mix qualification of all San Francisco Symphony SACD download releases that I’ve produced during the last three years; they are an indispensable tool”
The event will be in-person at Don’s in Healdsburg and will be an open-house format from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Masks and vaccination will be required and no one with a temperature of 100.4 or greater within a week of the event.
The address of the event will be sent to the attendees a day or two before the event.
